Vicky has been a professional writer since 2019. Before joining the Food Republic team, she worked as an entertainment writer, covering everything from celebrity diet culture to reality cooking competitions. She's also a biomedical scientist and an expert on food contamination — why it happens, how it spreads, and which foods are the most likely culprits. Beyond science and writing, she loves exploring global cuisines by researching and recreating dishes from around the world. At Food Republic, Vicky combines her passion for food safety and fascination with food culture to write food features that explore the intersection of what we eat, where it comes from, and how it affects us.
Education
Vicky has a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science from Kenyatta University.
