Experience
Michael has always been fascinated by food's ability to comfort, nourish, and inspire. While pursuing his master's degree in food systems at NYU, he served as a brand representative for a newly launched gourmet sorbet company called Sorbabes. After graduation, he wrote full-time for The Daily Meal as their healthy eating editor. Here, his articles, which covered a range of topics from longevity to food safety to the potential health benefits of a shot of tequila, were syndicated across major news outlets, including MSN, Yahoo, Food Beast, HuffPost, and Fox News. Later, he was recruited to become the in-house food writer at GNT, an international ingredient supplier specializing in natural food coloring. Most recently, he was the lead copywriter for Meatless Monday, a non-profit public wellness initiative focused on empowering audiences to eat more plant-based foods. Today, Michael focuses his attention on reading, writing (and publishing) short fiction, and finding the best New York City eats he can actually afford.
Education
Michael has a bachelor's degree in history from SUNY New Paltz and a master's degree in food studies from New York University.
