Dollar Tree is full of all kinds of interesting, low-cost finds. Everyone who has ever been to one knows that. However, what many people may not be privy to — at least, until now — is that some of the best deals can be found in the grocery department. For example, Dollar Tree has lots of tasty breakfast foods to help you get your day started, and they come at fantastic prices, too.

To help you avoid the duds and point you in the right direction for that first meal of the day, we rounded up a list of breakfast foods that are always worth buying from Dollar Tree. Whether it is because of the low cost, superior convenience, fantastic reviews, high ratings, or all three, trust that the upcoming breakfast items have what it takes to not only save you some cash, but make light work of morning meals. A closer look at our methodology can be found at the end. For now, let's sort your next Dollar Tree breakfast shopping list. Prices may vary based on your location.

1. Various single serving cereals

Cereal is a breakfast classic. It's easy — all you have to do is add milk, after all — filling, and tasty to boot. Luckily, you can snag a ton of different single-serving cereals at Dollar Tree for a low price, making them a breakfast food that is always worth picking up from the store. They are also easy to take with you on-the-go to function as a snack. Score.

As for the flavor selection, Dollar Tree stocks lots of sweet options that kids and adults alike crave, including Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, and Cocoa Pebbles. You can also find more nutrition-forward picks, like Raisin Bran Crunch and Cheerios, which just so happens to be the best-selling cereal brand in the U.S. To top it all off, each single-serving cup or pouch only costs $1. That's the cheapest price we've ever seen for single-serve cereal. Even at Walmart you can expect to pay a bit more for them. Getting them at Dollar Tree is just a no-brainer.

2. Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Strawberry Breakfast Bars

For those of us who find even cereal is too much to manage in the morning, we get it, but don't fret. Dollar Tree has a few solutions that require zero prep work or utensils to help you achieve breakfast glory. The first of which is Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Strawberry Breakfast Bars. With great reviews on Dollar Tree's and other retailers' websites and their undeniable convenience, they more than fit the bill of a breakfast food that's always worth keeping on-hand.

At Dollar Tree, Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Strawberry Breakfast Bars are also inexpensive. A box of eight only costs $3.75, so you pay well under $1 per piece. This price is not only comparable to other major retailers, but it also beats some places, like King Soopers, by a few pennies. Those pennies can add up quickly, so it's worth saving where you can. Purchasing Nutri-Grain Breakfast Bars from Dollar Tree just makes sense — or cents. Plus, in addition to breakfast, they make a fantastic snack at home or on the go.

3. Jimmy Dean Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches

If a hot handheld breakfast that's still super filling is your jam, your best bet at Dollar Tree is to go straight for the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches found in the freezer section. They go from frozen to hot-and-ready to eat in just a couple of minutes (35 to 40 seconds in the microwave and two minutes to rest, to be exact). Once they're done, you can easily walk out the door with them, too.

Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sandwiches are sold in two flavors at Dollar Tree: Croissant Sausage & Cheese and Croissant Sausage, Egg & Cheese. The former comes in single servings that cost $1.50 each, and the latter comes in packs of two for $4. Both options boast great reviews online. As one consumer said, "[They're] better than the fast food take-outs and cheaper too!" Admittedly, you may have to pay a touch more at Dollar Tree than somewhere like Target, but you'd also have to buy a larger quantity at other retailers, something not everyone has room to store. Regardless, the price is still comparable, so picking them up from Dollar Tree still provides lots of value. It also allows you to mix and match flavors, eliminating the chance of one flavor becoming monotonous.

4. Hungry Jack Complete Pancake and Waffle Mix in various flavors

We all know that convenience is key for many mornings, but when you have some extra time to spare, Hungry Jack Complete Pancake and Waffle Mix hits the spot. And, yes, you can find boxes of it at Dollar Tree for a great price. It also comes in two flavors to satisfy varying preferences: Complete Original and Complete Buttermilk.

A 16-ounce box of either flavor of Hungry Jack Pancake and Waffle Mix costs just $1.50 at Dollar Tree, so you can forget about breakfast breaking the bank. The price is also comparable to other retailers, although you'll have to buy larger boxes from them. For example, a 32-ounce box costs around $2.82 at Walmart.

Both flavors of Hungry Jack Pancake and Waffle Mix have excellent reviews online. On the Dollar Tree site, one consumer said they liked them so much that they had to buy another box the next week. Additionally, there are plenty of ways to upgrade boxed pancake mix, like adding rolled oats (which you can also get from Dollar Tree), so this breakfast option comes with lots of potential. They are still great from the box as-is, but a little upgrade never hurts.

5. Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls in several flavors

Jimmy Dean isn't a one-trick pony at Dollar Tree: You can also score some of the brand's Breakfast Bowls there for a fantastic price. They cost just $3.50 there, compared to around $3.99 at Safeway. That's quite the savings, especially if you enjoy this product on a regular basis. In addition, these yummy bowls are ready for enjoyment after about three minutes in the microwave, plus another minute to sit and rest, making them the perfect quick yet filling breakfast.

Dollar Tree currently stocks protein-packed Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls in three flavors: Sausage with 20 grams of protein, Bacon with 26 grams, and Meat Lovers with 22 grams. No matter which one you pick, you can rest assured you'll not only have a filling, hot morning meal, but you'll get a head start on your daily nutrition, as well. As for customer ratings, these bowls have been around for a minute, and their good reviews run rampant online.

6. Nestle Boost Protein Nutritional Drinks

Even if you are not the biggest breakfast person, it can still be good to get something in your belly to fuel your day. Luckily, Nestle Boost Protein Nutritional Drinks have your back. Considering there is no prep work required and you can take them with you anywhere, they are super convenient. They also come in two tasty flavors: Very Vanilla and Rich Chocolate, both of which have great reviews online.

Nestle Boost Protein Nutritional Drinks are sold at Dollar Tree for the low price of $1.50 each, or $30 for a case of 24. You may be able to find them for a comparable price at some stores, but others, like Target, charge as much as $21.49 for a 12-pack. That's a serious price hike, so eliminating the guesswork and going straight to Dollar Tree is a smart financial choice.

In addition to great value and convenience, Nestle Boost Protein Nutritional Drinks deliver a large dose of nutrition. It's right there in the name, after all. More precisely, each drink contains 12 grams of protein and 23 vitamins and minerals, so they certainly pack a helpful boost (pun intended) in the morning — it's a win on all fronts.

7. Hungry Jack Original Hashbrown Potatoes

Next up on our list of breakfast foods that are always worth picking up from Dollar Tree is another Hungry Jack product: The Original Hashbrown Potatoes. While they may not constitute an entire meal for most people, they are just what you need to bulk up your breakfast. You can enjoy them as a side dish, make a breakfast hash with them, create an eggs Benedict with a hashbrown base, and so much more.

Consumers also dole out lots of praise for Hungry Jack Original Hashbrown Potatoes on various retailer sites, saying the taste and texture surpass frozen options and even going so far as to call them the best hashbrowns in grocery stores. In addition, a family-size carton of them, which the packaging says feeds five, costs just $1.50 at Dollar Tree. For comparison, a slightly larger carton runs around $1.78 at Walmart, so purchasing them at Dollar Tree ensures you get the same level of value you would at another chain known for low prices.

8. Sunbest 100% Whole Grain Quick 1 Minute Oats

Another hot breakfast item worth your attention at Dollar Tree is Sunbest 100% Whole Grain Quick 1 Minute Oats. For starters, quick oats are a classic breakfast pick because they are hearty, nutritious, and easy to make — just add hot water and stir. They're also prime for ingredient upgrades, so you can steer the flavor in countless directions. Everything from fresh fruit to maple syrup to brown sugar and beyond takes it to the next level. If you want to branch out, we recommend topping oats with vanilla wafers.

Beyond versatility and convenience, Sunbest 1 Minute Oats are also highly rated on the Dollar Tree website. And at $1.50 per 16-ounce bag, they are also priced right. The final reason to purchase Sunburst 1 Minute Oats from Dollar Tree is that they are only sold at that chain, so you don't have another option. We jest, but they make a great breakfast choice regardless.

9. Kellogg's Special K Protein Bars

With 12 grams of protein per bar, Kellogg's Special K Protein Bars are a fantastic pick for anyone looking to maximize their intake of the nutrient, or anyone who wants a tasty handheld breakfast that can be taken on-the-go. Kellogg's Special K Bars are sold in two flavors at Dollar Tree: Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein and Strawberry Protein, and both options are highly-rated on various retailers' websites. On Dollar Tree's site, one customer said, "These have such an awesome taste. Not like cardboard like some other brands." In the protein bar game, that's saying something.

Then, there's the price. At Dollar Tree, Special K Protein Bars come in packs of eight, and once you do the math, they cost $1.25 each. That's not bad for a nutritious breakfast. They are also comparably priced at Target and Walmart, but you have to purchase a greater quantity at those retailers. While that may not be a big deal, especially if you know you love them, the choice to buy fewer is great for anyone who isn't sure how they feel about them yet. It's also nice for households who don't need to buy in bulk, or who don't have the pantry space.

10. Pop-Tarts in various flavors

This breakfast food to snag from Dollar Tree is beloved by many: Pop-Tarts. Chances are high that you already know how you feel about them, but just in case you don't, just know that kids and adults everywhere are smitten with them.

Speaking of flavors, Dollar Tree currently stocks three: Frosted Blueberry, Frosted S'mores, and Frosted Strawberry, so there's no lack of variety. Check your local store to see which flavors are available to you. At $3 for a box of eight, they are also competitively priced. You may be able to get them for a few pennies cheaper at Target and Walmart, but we mean it when we say pennies, so there's no need to go out of your way to hit up one of those spots.

We probably don't have to tell you this, but another reason Pop-Tarts are great for breakfast is that they are incredibly convenient. You can toss them in the toaster for a quick heat-up — or not. They taste great either way. They're also handheld, so you're free to roam anywhere you like with them. Now, if we could just figure out why Pop-Tarts come in packs of two when the serving size is one, we'd be all set.

Methodology

Dollar Tree sells more breakfast items than the ones found above. However, I wanted to ensure I brought you options that are truly worth your hard-earned cash. To do so, I scoured product reviews on Dollar Tree's and other grocery stores' websites and also compared Dollar Tree's prices to other retailers. Then, I considered convenience. After all, no one wants to make mornings more complicated than needed.

Breakfast items that offer ease of preparation (or none at all), great customer reviews, high rankings, exceptionally low or at the very least comparable prices, and excellent value earned a spot on the list. Some items, like generic Morning Starters cereal and frosted donuts, didn't perform so well in those areas, so they didn't make the cut. Also, I didn't include any numerical values for rankings, like 5 stars, because, just like with any products, they change quite frequently. Even so, all of the featured products had a rating of 4 stars or higher at the time this was written.

Now that you know which breakfast items to score, I recommend perusing Dollar Tree summer desserts worth buying before your next trip to the store, as well. As it turns out, the chain has a lot to offer in that area, too.
