Chick-Fil-A Is Testing A New Chicken Sandwich, But There's A Twist

Chick-fil-A has always maintained a relatively small menu, so any time the chicken chain introduces a new menu item, fans light up with excitement. The company has shared news that it will be testing an exciting item called the Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich, starting on April 8, 2024. Its signature crispy chicken breast will accompany lettuce, tomato, applewood-smoked bacon, and seasoned cheddar cheese on a toasted pretzel bun, with a side of creamy Dijon mustard.

However, much to the dismay of millions, the new sandwich will only be offered at participating locations in Raleigh, North Carolina. Like other fast food companies, Chick-fil-A occasionally releases items on a smaller scale to see how customers respond. In 2023, it released a fried cauliflower sandwich that bore an uncanny resemblance to its original chicken sandwich, but only in three U.S. cities. The cauliflower sandwich hasn't made another appearance on menus since May of that year, so its future is uncertain.

Before you stock up on road trip snacks and cross state lines into North Carolina, you should check the Chick-fil-A app upon the sandwich's release to see which restaurants in the Raleigh area will be offering the new dish. And if traveling for one sandwich doesn't seem worth it, the chain has a few other exciting items that you could try at your local store.

Chick-fil-A has a new drink line that everyone can try

While not every Chick-fil-A fan will be able to snag the new pretzel sandwich, the chain is also releasing a brand-new seasonal beverage on the same date. Following in the footsteps of the popular mango-passion, cloudberry, and watermelon-mint drinks, Cherry Berry beverages will be joining the restaurant's drink line up. Flavored with tart cherry, blueberry, and cranberry, the Cherry Berry flavor will be available in the form of a lemonade, iced tea, frosted lemonade (a combination of lemonade and vanilla Icedream), and Sunjoy (basically an Arnold Palmer or a mix of tea and lemonade).

Chick-fil-A is optimistic about guest's reactions to its new beverage, with the director of the company's menu and packaging, Allison Duncan, saying, "Since introducing seasonal beverages in 2017 our Guests have shown continued enthusiasm for new flavors and variety, especially bright, sweet beverages that sit so well alongside our classic menu items." Indeed, dishes like fried chicken which are equal parts greasy, salty, and crunchy practically beg for a tart, sweet, and refreshing beverage. A Cherry Berry lemonade could prove to be a hit with dedicated customers.
