Starbucks' 2023 Fall Menu Introduces New Pumpkin Chai Latte And Reserve Cocktail

Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' may have already debuted their fall treats for the 2023 season, but what these companies really did by releasing their pumpkin pastries and coffees was make us anticipate when the mother of all pumpkin spice goodness would release theirs. In other words: When would Starbucks release its Pumpkin Spice Latte and inevitable new fall drinks?

There was a much-publicized media leak that the PSL magic would happen on August 24, and the source must have been solid because Starbucks has officially announced the return of its fall goodies. For the 20th year in a row, the Pumpkin Spice Latte will grace its menu boards as well as a couple of other returning favorites. New to join the ranks this year is the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte.

In a press release, Starbucks confirmed that the new fall drink was inspired by a popular secret menu order. Essentially, a chai tea latte is topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice on top. The wildly popular Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will also be delighting customers once again, but they also may be tempted to try the brand new Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. It is a cold counterpart to the returning Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. The rare and exclusive Starbucks Reserve locations are also getting in on the autumn action by releasing new drinks of their own, including a caffeinated cocktail.

Pumpkin spice coffee and cocktails

Starbucks Reserve is a collection of six exclusive Starbucks roasteries and cafes. Three of the six locations are located in the United States, in Seattle, New York, and Chicago. The coffees there are premium and always served fresh, the pastries are from Milan, and they serve cocktails, among many other bougie perks. In celebration of the 20th year of the coffee giant's Pumpkin Spice madness, Reserve locations will be brewing and shaking up Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martinis, which will take the cocktail-of-the-moment and add warm spices and pumpkin spiced whipped cream. Along with the martinis, Starbucks Reserve will serve up the original Pumpkin Spice Lattes made with Reserve espresso and Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Barrel Aged Iced Lattes.

Of course, what's coffee without a sweet treat to go with it? Naturally, Starbucks is introducing a new pastry this year — the Baked Apple Croissant — and is bringing back the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and Owl Cake Pops. Starbucks Reserve is getting a bit fancier with the debut of Pumpkin Spice Cake topped with caramel sauce, pumpkin seeds, and a square of Italian chocolate, and Pumpkin Maritozzo, a brioche bun filled with spiced pumpkin mascarpone cream.

The dreamy new fall menu additions at Starbucks are enough to make even the most devoted summer lover excited for a season of crisp weather, colorful leaves, and cozy scarves. Soaring late-August temperatures will be no reason for anyone to stay away when these amazing drinks and pastries hit stores.
