When you belong to a members-only warehouse store like Costco or Sam's Club, you're in it for the savings, of course. There are some simple Costco essentials you can get for $10 or less. But when it comes to pre-seasoned, packaged foods, some are better than others. And the fish, especially, can be a little iffy. There's a clear hierarchy of the best and worst Costco salmon products, according to shoppers — but if you want a little spice with your dinner, you might want to try the Live Ocean Sweet Thai Chili Atlantic Salmon.

It's a package of six boneless Atlantic salmon fillets that come pre-seasoned with brown sugar and a mix of seasonings that leans heavily into ginger for a sweet and savory meal you can simply toss into the oven or throw on the grill. In one TikTok video, the salmon was praised for being "very good" and "the least fishy-tasting salmon" the reviewer had ever tried. On the grill, it comes out super tender, and the fact that the fillets still have the skin on adds even more flavor. Each bite is flavorful without being too overpowering because the seasoning doesn't go too heavy on the spices, and the added chile flavor is pretty mild. Served with a side of steamed green beans or some asparagus, it makes a quick and easy meal that would take a whole lot more prep to make from scratch.

Frozen Thai salmon simplifies weeknight cooking

If you're not a Costco member, Sam's Club has a similar product in its frozen Sweet Thai Chili Butter Coho Salmon fillets. Sure, the Sam's Club version has butter, which isn't listed as an ingredient in Costco's version, but both are products of Chile, both contain farm-raised salmon, and both are produced by Live Ocean LLC of San Diego. You do get one extra fillet in the Costco version, however.

Cooking-wise, they're basically the same. You can put them directly into the oven from frozen or even cook them in the microwave, although the instructions recommend thawing the fillets before putting them on the grill. If you want to add a little more flavor, you can use a drizzle of honey or some Old Bay, but many reviewers said the fillets are perfectly delicious and don't need anything else. If you're cooking the Sam's Club version in the air fryer, you might want to use a little parchment paper to soak up the butter as it cooks out. Otherwise, if you want to go in a spicier Thai direction, you can add some sriracha to the top of the salmon or serve it with a pounded papaya salad. You can even pull just one fillet out of the freezer at a time and enjoy a flavorful, easy-to-make meal in under half an hour.
