Not to mention, the overall Monument grill construction is covered by warranties of up to five years, all positive signs for longevity.

So while some affordable grill options are expected to last only three to five years, you can expect closer to a decade with a Monument grill. After several years of heavy use, consumers report only minimal wear and tear, with the moving components and electronics remaining in good shape. As with all brands, there will be discrepancies between models — often, the more you pay, the better the quality (though some affordable grilling tools are surprisingly durable).

Good warranties and favorable reviews are certainly promising indicators, but there are other factors to consider when shopping for Monument gas grills. One concern users frequently mention is the frame. Even on higher-end models, grill enthusiasts have voiced concerns about its thickness. Many Monument grills are manufactured from stainless steel, but consumers report that the metal is relatively thin throughout the interior construction, with only a few screws holding major components together. While this may not be an issue initially, such cost-cutting measures could lead to problems years down the line, resulting in a less stable grilling experience.

The steel used is also prone to cosmetic damage. "Monument Grills uses the absolute cheapest grade stainless which rusts/oxidizes almost immediately," wrote one concerned Reddit user. A YouTube reviewer reported a similar issue with the top-of-the-line Monument Eminence: "There is an extremely minor amount of tarnish on the stainless steel on the Eminence," they noted. 

As a result, you'll want to take extra care protecting your Monument grill from the elements. Even if you're not grilling in cold weather, it's still important to winterize your grill to help prevent rust and extend its lifespan. Keep these construction considerations in mind, though, and you'll likely get many years of use from your Monument gas grill.
