  • In 2014, she spent months traveling around and writing about Togo and Uganda.
  • After an island-hopping adventure in the South Pacific in 2016, Madeline landed in Palau where she swam with jellyfish and utterly failed at swinging on a jungle vine.

Experience

Madeline has been a professional journalist for over 12 years. She helped expand an international relations magazine in Boston and was later selected to start the editorial department at Weather Underground, a weather data company. There, she wrote about how climate change was affecting the food industry and local communities around the world. When Madeline was in grad school, she spent most of her time writing her thesis in local craft breweries, and later acknowledged them when the thesis was published by a peer-reviewed journal. She is trained in reporting from crisis zones and certified to pour the perfect pint of Guinness. Madeline grew up on the red carpets of Disney and Marvel premieres, often spilling the condiments from her street cart hot dog on her dress...so she's got range, plus a pretty wicked coffee addiction. She joined Static Media in 2023 and has been writing about the wonderful worlds of food, drink, and travel ever since.

Education

Madeline has bachelor's degrees in journalism and cultural anthropology from Boston University and a master's degree in global public health from George Washington University.
