Experience
Donna is a longtime broadcast journalist, producer, and writer who built a national media career before fully stepping into the food world. While serving as executive producer of the nationally syndicated radio program, "American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks", she produced a local cooking show and developed her voice as a culinary storyteller. She co-wrote the 2016 cookbook, "Cookin' It with Kix: The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking", a project that led to further collaborations with names like John Carter Cash, Alicia Witt and Rosella Rago. She later became a regular voice in Central Oregon's food scene, writing for Source Weekly and curating Cascades Eats' newsletter, while contributing to publications including Bend Magazine, Savvy360, and AAA Traveler. She previously hosted the Food Life Podcast, and is currently co-founder and co-host of The Lunchbucket Podcast, where conversations around food, life, and creativity take center stage. Whether she is writing, baking, or telling someone else's story, her work is grounded in one simple idea: food is more than what we eat. It is how we connect.
