In this week's roundup of food activism news, we've found restaurants and bars are dedicating their profits to charities and organizations of their choosing:
Brooklyn bakery and bar, Butter and Scotch, is donating a dollar to Planned Parenthood for every seasonal cocktail purchased.
Dos Toros, the California-style taqueria chain in New York City, will celebrate its newest location on 6th Avenue on March 7 with $1 burritos, salads, plates, quesadillas and tacos from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. For every burrito purchased at the new location, $1 will be donated to the Food Bank of New York City.
Robin Hood, a restaurant in Madrid, Spain, serves the city's homeless three-course dinners every night, according to Fast Co.Exist. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and charges daytime costumers a little extra in order to serve the underprivileged for free.
This past weekend, NYC bakery Haven's Kitchen hosted a pop-up benefitting the American Civil Liberties Union.
