Since its opening in the 1980s, Patisserie Claude has become a neighborhood favorite in New York City's West Village, but now it's facing a potential shuttering. The bakery's regulars recount their favorite memories and pastries in a tribute video produced by theculinista.com, a video magazine. The bakery's lease is slated to end in October 2017, and it's unclear whether it will be renewed. The rising cost of rent, an evil common denominator in New York, was a reason alluded to by the baker's son, Carlos, for the bakery's possible closure. The days of warm, buttery, flaky, nearly perfect croissants may be numbered. Watch the heartwarming tribute below.
