George Lucas’s Star Wars franchise has always maintained a strong marketing presence. Case in point: We’re writing this article from under our Star Wars bedsheets while sporting our stylish Star Wars pajamas. As soon as we’re finished doing that, we’re making a beeline for the Star Wars–themed General Mills cereal that’s sitting in our pantry.
Soon to join said cereal in our pantry is a line of Campbell’s Soup cans branded with — you guessed it — all things Star Wars. With the impending December release of the series’ newest film, The Force Awakens, Campbell’s has emblazoned its products with images of popular characters, including Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, C-3P0 and R2-D2. And that’s not all. The soup — pasta with chicken in chicken broth — comes in “Star Wars shapes,” described by the labels as “cool” and “stellar.” We’re sure these soon-to-be collectibles will be out in full force as dressed-up fans take in midnight screenings worldwide this winter.
