Was James Beard The First Foodie? Who Is James Beard? A Documentary Explains.

"When this guy speaks, master chefs listen," says the Mad Men-era television voiceover introducing James Beard, a revolutionary figure in the food world, before his pitches for Ceresota unbleached flour. Beard was a revolutionary in the food marketing world too. Beard wrote 22 cookbooks and was the first television chef to teach people to actually cook. And as a documentary in the works reasons, James Beard was America's first foodie. The film does not have a release date yet and features all sorts of famous food people like Jacques Pepin, Jeremiah Tower, Chris Cosentino, Florence Fabricant and cookbook editor Judith Jones, who steals the show in this trailer.
