You definitely don't need to give a Scotsman an excuse to drink, but every January 25, there's an especially good one: Burns Night. Yes, Burns as in Robert Burns, the legendary Scottish poet, born 1/25/59 — as in, 1759 — and perhaps the most romantic man to ever hail from the land of haggis.

The special day happens to fall in the coldest season, when we should all be drinking the brown stuff. So, in a bit of poetic timing, you might say, we're going to be celebrating Burns Night with a dram of single malt, a meal centered around Scottish salmon, some shortbread and who knows what else.
