Hype Williams Directed A Commercial For Honey Nut Cheerios Like It Was All 1996
If there were a Hall Of Fame for rap music video directors — which there should be — Hype Williams would be a first class, first ballot selection. He's responsible for classics like LL Cool J's "Doin' It," Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre's "California Love," and Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It." He's also is also responsible for bringing to life 1993 chart topper "Come Baby Come" from rapper K7. You might not remember the song, but you should throw it on your next party mixtape. EVERYBODY knows it. Trust us.
Anyways, Williams is famous for his generous use of the fish-eye lens and detailed choreography. This is very clear in his recent collaboration with Nelly and emerging rap-singer Buzz The Bee, previously best known as the mascot of Honey Nut Cheerios and the keeper of the ever-drippy honey comb wand.
Here are two spots. Thanks for the tip @mehpatrol. And, remember kids... it must be the honey.
