You can use the liqueur immediately, but after a few days, it will settle out, which will make it much smoother. Set aside the sediment: it makes a great sauce base for fall desserts, and is pretty tasty drizzled on top of ice cream or pumpkin pie. As for the liqueur itself, you can drink it straight or use it as a mixer. It makes a great base for a hot toddy, a nice side shot for a glass of pumpkin beer, or a good addition to hot cider.
