Hey Domino's: Why Did You Have To Go And Hate On Halibut?
Alright, we'll give fast food pizza seller Domino's some creativity points for their Pizzavestments campaign. As reported in Ad Age, the Michigan-based inventor of Chicken Kickers® and a Tuscan salami and roasted vegetables something are awarding 30 "startups" with $500 gift certificates to help fuel their endeavors. The investment will be delivered in a fancy case, with a letter and certificate signed by the company's CEO Patrick Doyle, who btw doesn't look at all like this.
The company has released a video offering details:
We're having issues with the clip at around :15. "Nobody is coming up with a world-changing idea over halibut," says the voiceover from the sky. Hey Domino's, what is your problem with halibut? Maybe you should add this guy to your summer reading list. Did you know that halibut is a nutrient-dense food and a good source of high-quality protein. Halibut is also rich in minerals like selenium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, as well as vitamins B12, niacin and B6. And perhaps most important, halibut offers the beneficial omega-3 essential fatty acids.
Domino's, why not single out more inconsequential foodstuffs like: popcorn, Heath bars, gazpacho, Melba toast, black olives or Grape-Nuts? We think halibut deserves an apology.
