The Folks At Eater Launched A Smartphone App And It's Pretty Great

Eater launched in 2005 as a modest blog (weblog to some at the time) covering the New York City restaurant scene — warts and plywood reports and all. Since then, the site has grown into the force we know and read daily — following much of the same reporting ethic and obsessive Husk Nashville coverage that we like to offer you at Food Republic. Just last month, Eater National was nominated for a James Beard media award, which served as a sort of coming out party for the website.

And just last Thursday, the crew at 36 Coop reinvented themselves once again with the release of an iPhone and Android app. We tried it out over the weekend in Chicago and think it's pretty great. And until the Food Republic app drops (coming soon, ya heard), this is now our go-to for restaurant picks in over 22 American cities.

Here's the note from Eater co-founder Lockhart Steele:

Available today, for the very first time in the iTunes Store and Play Store: the brand-new, super-shiny Eater App. Seriously, do not waste another second. Download Eater App for iPhone and download Eater App for Android.
