Here's Proof That The Holiday Flavor Craze Is, Well, Crazy
In an article yesterday, USA Today highlighted some of the wackiest flavored products being released just in time for the holiday season. Considering that this period is the most lucrative time of year for consumer purchases, food and drink companies are constantly coming out with "uniquely" tasting products, often on a limited basis.
Pringles are now offered in Cinnamon and Sugar, White Chocolate Peppermint and Pumpkin Pie Spice varieties (yes, we already made sure this wasn't some sort of sick food prank). Baskin-Robbins is marketing a cake that looks like a turkey, complete with two flavors of ice cream and a glaze of sweet caramel. Over at Target, you can spring for one of their special holiday flavored milks. We're talking red velvet, chocolate mint and eggnog.
Meanwhile, drink giants are banking on gingerbread's trendiness this season, with shakes, sundaes and sodas now available at places like Burger King and Red Robin. The latter will even toss in a shot of Jim Beam in there for you. Who says Christmas is only fun for kids?
Cold weather make your lips chapped? Fear not. Candy cane, apple cider and chocolate truffle-flavored ChapStick is here to save the day. Just when you thought things couldn't possibly get any more ridiculous.
