Dregs! Kind of sounds like an expletive in old England. It might have been an expletive in old England. 

Dregs are solid particles that tend to settle on the bottom of your cup of tea, glass of wine, etc. Thankfully, minor irritances like dregs in a glass of wine are more or less acceptable, unlike those evil sulfates. What? Sulfates aren’t evil? Dregs!
