Every culture has a dish that’s been around forever — or at least as far back as anyone can possibly remember. We imagine here in the States it’s a good old-fashioned burger. And in Jewish cuisine, it just might be kugel.

Kugel is a baked casserole made with noodles set in an egg custard, served savory or sweet. This traditional Jewish dish has been on the tables for nearly a millenium. And while you’re at the deli getting a sizable hunk, you might as well grab some soup.
