Word Of The Day: Polyculture

Polyculture is method of agriculture where diverse crops are grown in particular areas and act like a natural ecosystem. Many gardeners create a polyculture space so that they can eat constantly out of their garden, as different plants mature sooner than others. The thick vegetation creates less evaporation, which ultimately creates a habitat for fauna. The best solution to get rid of these pestering animals is to become a rabbit connoisseur like King Louis XVIII and eat them.

What we don't see is the amount of grueling labor that is needed to maintain a polyculture garden, which explains why Mr. McGregor gets furious and chases Peter Rabbit out of his garden in the age-old tale (though what he should have done was dunked him in buttermilk and fried him).
