News You Can Use
It's Good Friday, Earth Day, Passover week, and it's almost the weekend! It's like the harmonic convergence of holidays! So when we're not listening to family members drone on about something boring, we'll be on our iPads checking out some of these stories:
- We're obviously kinda obsessed with burgers, so we were interested in this story from NPR about how higher-end burger restaurants may be upping the burger standards for the entire the fast-food industry.
- We are also obsessed with the new Greenpeace seafood sustainability and safety report, complete with a supermarket scorecard.
- Over at FoodPolitics.com, Marion Nestle says that food marketing to kids is getting out of control, with apps and cell phone games dubiously shilling sugary snacks and unhealthy foods.
- We'll admit this this is cheesier than our pizza of the week, but The Daily Meal's YouTube channel assembles kinda funny commercials featuring celebs before they were famous, like Brad Pitt mugging it up for Pringles.
