Starbucks' Beloved Pistachio Drinks Return With 2024 Winter Menu

Starbucks is ushering in the new year with a new 2024 winter menu, featuring the return of some of the brand's beloved seasonal drinks. According to a press release shared with Food Republic, Starbucks locations across America will bring back two pistachio beverages on January 3 for a limited-time run.

Fans of the sweet taste of pistachio will welcome back Starbucks' Pistachio Latte for the fourth consecutive year. The espresso and steamed milk beverage is flavored with pistachio syrup and has a nutty, salted brown butter topping. The drink is available hot or iced, or as a blended Frappuccino. Customers who enjoy iced coffee, no matter the chilly temps outside, will be happy to see that the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew is also returning. This cold brew coffee drink is sweetened with vanilla syrup and garnished with pistachio cream cold foam and more of those signature salted brown butter sprinkles.

Starbucks Rewards members can order items from the new 2024 winter menu on the official app or in stores. And, for the first time since Starbucks initiated its reusable cup program in the 1980s, customers can now use their reusable cups for drinks regardless of how they place their order. Whether online or in-person, now is the time to try this unique perk.

Don't forget your reusable cup at Starbucks

After a successful test in Colorado, participating Starbucks locations throughout the U.S. and Canada will now fill your clean reusable cup for any drink order made using the app, in the drive-thru, or in stores. Starbucks is the first coffee chain to expand a reusable cup service to mobile and drive-thru customers without restrictions. Customers will also be rewarded a $0.10 discount on their orders when they use a reusable cup, while Starbucks Rewards members will also collect 25 Bonus Stars. Customers are allowed three discounted purchases a day using these perks.

This new act is part of the company's Reusables program, which tests out different initiatives with the goal of reducing Starbuck's total waste footprint by 50% by 2030. Similar reusable cup programs have been tested in several other countries beyond the U.S. and Canada.

Notably, customers using the drive-thru should alert their barista that they have a reusable cup and be prepared to hand it over without the lid using a contact-free vessel. Usually, a clean ceramic mug provided by the store is used to transfer the cup from customer to barista in order to avoid hand-touching. Those making a purchase through the app will need to customize their drink by clicking "Personal Cup" before completing the order so that they can use their own cup. Cups do not need to be purchased at Starbucks, but they do need to be cleaned before you hand them over.
