This TED Fellow Is Obsessed With Food Sustainability
Every year, TED selects a group of young innovators from all around the world to support their research, business and/or art and gives them the platform to eventually give a TED Talk. Matilda Ho has made her way to this year's Fellow class by founding an online farmers' market, Yimishiji, based in Shanghai.
Ho has also founded and serves as managing director of Bits X Bites, China's first venture capital fund dedicated to food tech startups aiming to improve China's food system. It's the country's first food-focused accelerator. The company lends a helping hand to get startups off the ground through a 120-day program. The startups are supplied with coworking spaces, kitchen labs, mentors from around the world, access to farms and more. The program leads to Demo Day, in which companies give a pitch to real investors.
Ho is also an advisor to one of China's biggest organic condiment companies, Shinho.
