Design Details, Episode 2: Le Fond In Brooklyn
Welcome to Design Details, Food Republic's video series that takes us inside restaurants and asks key players about the elements that create the look and feel of a given space. Next up is a special one just in time for Father's Day with Jake Eberle of Le Fond in Greenpoint.
When Jake Eberle took over a former Polish restaurant in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn with the goal of transforming it into a cozy French bistro, he turned to someone he could trust to help with the interior design: his dad. Brett Eberle, a "hobbyist" according to Eberle fils, came through with elegant woodworking that started with two six-tops, which led to him hand-crafting all the two-tops. "Before I knew it, he did all the furniture," Jake says. Take a look inside Le Fond and hear more of the story in this short video.
