Qui has been one of Austin’s most difficult tables to snag since opening last year. Franklin Barbecue is, well, have you seen the line that forms outside before it opens every single day? For one night only, the chefs behind the two immensely popular restaurants — Paul Qui and Aaron Franklin — are collaborating to cook dinner. Ladies and gentlemen, this is going to be a meal for the ages.
Titled “Fire & Smoke" and sponsored by Texas Monthly Barbecue, the dinner — to be held at Qui on Sunday, January 25 at 6 p.m. — will benefit Foodways Texas. The charity preserves, promotes and celebrates the state’s diverse food cultures. Little other information is currently available and the meat maestros’ menu has yet to have been released, but tickets will go on sale through Texas Monthly Barbecue beginning this Thursday.
