“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get a life-sized bust of yourself made out of bacon?” That’s the first sentence of an email we got this morning from a rep at meat producer Farmland. We circulated this age-old question around the office and, as it turns out, none of us had put much thought into it up to this point. Now, that’s not to say that we wouldn’t be interested in bearing witness to such a phenomenon… or that it’s not the only thing we’ve been able to think about since receiving the email.
Here’s the background info you need to know: When Farmland launched a “bacon club” in May, it offered new members the chance to win a life-sized bacon bust created in their likeness. One winner – Patrick Parker – was chosen, and a food sculptor was soon selected to construct the bust. We got a hold of the two videos – depicting both the creation and the reveal – and included them below.
