Amelia Meath, of Vermont folk trip Mountain Man, and producer Nick Sanborn (called Made of Oak when playing on stages) formed a side project called Sylvan Esso. Their standout single — “Coffee” — doesn’t really have much to do with Kalita or Aeropress. But who cares, it’s a pretty (and pretty interesting) mashup of styles and what we are listening to this morning. With a fun video too. Bill Pearis, writing for Brooklyn Vegan, is a fan, as noted in his SXSW 2014 recap. “A real surprise, as I am against laptop acts in general, Sylvan Esso really made it work." Ha, Brooklyn Vegan. More food references. Ok with us.
