The single-topic food Tumblr fad — one that started with Scanwiches and evolved into Beach Chair Legs Vs. Hot Dog Legs and, most recently, House of Carbs — is not letting up. Did we just call it a fad? It's more of a force. We were reminded yet again on this very fine Meatless Monday morning when pure, wholesome thoughts of green juicing and baked seitan were interrupted by a little hamburger porn. No, not the Kate Upton Eats A Hamburger Director's Cut clip you are thinking about. No, were talking about the seared meat, gooey cheese, exploding condiments kind of burger porn found at PornBuger.me.
Little is known about the Tumblr's author, but what we can tell you is that she/he is thinking big with their lineup of sharply photographed, inventive burger concepts. The Dirty Bird is made with duck confit topped with fried chicken hearts, chicken liver pâté and fig ketchup. Yes they did that. The Mac Daddy is a lobster patty (whoa) topped with rashers of jerked-rubbed bacon, purple kale and tomato slices wedged between two fried mac and cheese "buns" that raises our pulse. Porn Burger, is there a restaurant is in your future? A book is a given. But we want to try these in the flesh. Mmmm, flesh.
