The NYC Food Film Festival Begins Tonight With Barbecue On The Big Screen

Travel Channel host and documentary filmmaker George Motz, along with co-creator Harry Hawk, established the Food Film Festival in Brooklyn in 2007 as a way to showcase documentaries, features and short films involving food. This year's New York City event runs Oct. 23-27 with a long list of screenings (with benefits). Not simply a showcase of food on screen, many of the events feature a tasting component as well. Here is a list of some of the happenings:

October 23

The Kings of BBQ

Featuring the New York City Premiere of The Kings of BBQ: Barbecue Kuwait, plus a bountiful BBQ brisket feast from Champion Pit Masters Nicole Davenport, Johnny Trigg, Tuffy Stone and John Markus. Plus down home sides from local NYC joints, a Southern Dessert Bar and more!
