Preview: David Chang Gets Into The "Mind Of A Chef"
If you like Momofuku, No Reservations and tapas, you're going to love David Chang on a pintxos crawl with two of Spain's most revered chefs: father-daughter team Juan Mari and Elena Arzak, and narrator (and executive producer) Anthony Bourdain. The Arzaks, who own 3-starred San Sebastiàn restaurant Arzak, invited Chang to sample "the very first tapas, ever." But even more entertaining than a chef's-eye view into one of the greatest food cultures in the world is watching Chang hoover anchovies like a Sea World exhibit.
The first season of The Mind Of A Chef, a PBS series airing nationwide tonight, November 9th (check local listings for exact time), follows Chang's search for hard-to-find ingredients and the master chefs who aren't afraid to use them. But will it be a source of food porn? Do bears...fine, yes it is a good source of food porn. Have we mentioned Bourdain had a hand in it? Check out this exclusive clip, and tune in tonight. We'll have a realtime "anchovies eaten" counter going.
