Sneak Preview: David Lynch's Limited-Edition Bottles For Dom Perignon

When celebrities enter into the design arena, the focus tends to understandly fall on looks versus substance, which is why we're always especially pleased over the stellar outcomes born from collaborations between legendary brands and legit celebrity artists (take Hennessy's co-design with graffiti artist Futura, for example).

Coming this fall: limited-edition bottles of bubbly created by David Lynch, filmaker and all-around Renaissance man, for Dom Pérignon. As the world's most renowned champagne maker, DP has the substance inside its bottles mastered to extraordinary standards. The final products of their collaboration with Lynch — bottles and packaging that cast a somber, dark and mysterious shroud over the brand — clearly reflect those same standards of excellence.

To create the exclusive artwork, Lynch, an accomplished artist, photographer and most recently musician, teamed up with a special effects designer to use welding torches, smoke machines, crystals and lighting effects for a design that plays on the notion of darkness and shadows — and the riveting nature of what might be bubbling below the surface.

The bottles will be on sale in October at select retailers for $169.
