Video: Intelligentsia Syphon Brew In Action

We've been in Los Angeles for the past couple of days covering the LA Food and Wine Festival — running around to some of our favorite new restaurants (Spice Table, Superba) between events near the Staples Center. We were hitting a little bit of a wall yesterday (we'll call it the foam wall) and headed to one of our favorite LA coffee spots — a branch of the Chicago roaster Intelligentsia on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. We waited in line for 15 minutes for a couple of cups of cold brew. So worth it. It reminded us of this extremely cool video of their "total emersion" syphon brew, with a filter, in action.
