Beat The Chefs: It's Pros Vs. Amateurs On New Cooking Show

Today, GSN announced a new cooking show pitting well-known chefs (Beau MacMillan, Antonia Lofaso, Jeff Henderson) against amateur chefs. Judges will include Food Republic contributor Brad A. Johnson. More from the release below:

BEAT THE CHEFS is an hour-long show, in which everyday people who love to cook set out to prove that their family recipes are worth prize money and bragging rights. Each week, the show pits homegrown talents against three professional chefs as they cook the same dish—from firehouse chili to Grandma's famous chicken and dumplings—with one question in mind: Whose tastes the best?

A panel of critics will judge and decide if the amateurs can "beat the chefs." Hosted by American Idol finalist Matt Rogers ("Coming Home,") BEAT THE CHEFS is produced by RelativityREAL, with Tom Forman ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition") and Brian A. Veskosky ("Deal or No Deal," "Don't Forget the Lyrics," "Fear Factor") serving as Executive Producers.

Johnson has traveled the world for Food Republic, filing dispatches from Vail, Australia and Shanghai. We wish him the best as judge on Beat The Chef.
