NYC: Speed Rack Finals Are Coming To Town

After a year of competing in 10 cities across America, the fastest female bartenders in the business will have their final showdown in New York City this Thursday, May 10th. The charity bar competition called Speed Rack (named for the fast, lady bartenders – get it?), pits the competitors head-to-head in a timed, round robin-style tournament judged by industry greats like Dale DeGroff, Julie Reiner and Audrey Saunders.

All proceeds from the competition — which was created by Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero of L.U.P.E.C. (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) — will go toward breast cancer education, prevention and research. If seeing a whirlwind of mixology mastery culminating in the crowning of Miss Speed Rack USA and supporting breast cancer wasn't enough, we give you two more reasons why the finals are a must-attend event:

1. Your $40 ticket includes food from Pies & Thighs, Clover Club, Viktor & Spoils and spirit-laced sweets from Steve's Ice Cream.

2. Our very own cocktail columnist, Simon Ford, will be emceeing the event along with Chris Patino.
