James Beard Awards Preview

The James Beard Foundation likes to quote a Time magazine article that called its annual awards ceremony "The Oscars of the food world." In the interest of full disclosure, I might have well been the writer that made that proclamation (scroll down). And it is true, The James Beard Awards are the most prestigious food awards given each year in the United Staes. But it's also a little bit like food world prom, with everyone getting all decked out and staying out too late, perhaps drinking too much.
