Word Of The Day: Agemono
Considering Japan's active drinking culture (check out these midnight munchies), it only makes sense that they'd have plenty of offerings from the deep-fried world.
Agemono is the Japanese culinary term for that which is fried. Off the top of our heads, we can think of gyoza, tonkatsu and tempura. But if you go to Osaka, you'll find takoyaki, fried dough balls filled with octopus. And if you're walking around any Japanese city, you're likely to come across korokke — breaded, fried croquettes filled with meat, vegetables and potatoes. Feel like pouring yourself a Sapporo yet?
