We had to post this awesome reader-made video

Umami Burger's version, with truffled ricotta and truffle dressing definitely falls into the "too much of a good thing" category...if truffle oil had actual truffle in it, and that's a story for another day. Anyway, check out this slice of reader video mail and stick to kale Caesars in the meantime.

That Time We Went Truffle Hunting And Bagged More Truffles Than Oprah

The "truffle freak" TV star was in Umbria

Oprah is a fan of truffles, those wonderfully perfumed and baller-grade expensive mushrooms that magically make your autumn bowl of risotto cost $98. Oprah is such a fan, in fact, that she recently went on a truffle hunt. The self-professed “truffle freak” took to Instagram with a couple of photos of her day with the dogs in Umbria. We also had our own truffle-hunting adventure, and it went even better than Oprah's! How is that even possible?

In case you had too much of either lying around
Mar 3, 2014 12:30 pm

I had three sacks of Babybels, just take me out back and shoot me if I ever run out of those, but they needed a friend and I was out of both crackers and fruit. A dusty jar in the pantry glared at me as though I'd forgotten about it. I had. It was truffle honey, which doens't go bad, and the possibility of introducing these two single pals made me feel like a lunch yenta. A match made in heaven, after the jump.
