There Are Now Vitamins In Vodka And Caffeine In Peanut Butter

Today's food crazes generally run in two veins: a) deconstruct anything to its purest form and b) stack and stuff as much as you can into a single item. Today, we bring to light two examples of the latter.

A Massachusetts company called Steem has created a one-stop breakfast jar of caffeinated peanut butter.

"It's a time-saver; your two favorite products in one jar," Steem cofounder Chris Pettazzoni told the Boston Globe.

The all-natural spread is made with peanuts, salt, peanut oil, agave nectar and green-coffee extract. Two tablespoons of the stuff contains as much caffeine as two cups of coffee. That's some damn buzzy peanut butter.

The Globe reports that the idea for peanut butter was conceived when Pettazzoni and his fellow creators were thinking of hangover cures. Speaking of which, the latest spirit to come out of Australia is a vitamin-infused vodka that's designed to prevent hangovers before they start, according to Munchies. A vitamin-fortified vodka sounds like something Lucille Bluth of Arrested Development could stand behind.

The spirit, named Vitamin Vodka and created by the Vitamin Alcohol Company, is reportedly "infused with anti-hangover vitamins," such as B, C and K. The vodka's main focus is that it's organic and made with the purest ingredients Australia has to offer. The anti-hangover stuff is just a bonus, the company's business manager, Bradley Mitton, told Munchies.

The future looks like energized and hangover-free, thanks to the unlikely sources of peanut butter and vodka.
