This holiday season, there has been no lack of goofy (yet sometimes useful) pop-culture crossover cookbooks available for gifting. Between a Hunger Games recipe companion and the 50 Shades Of Kale guy traveling on an endless press tour, we've most certainly had our fill. And now somebody went and published a Settlers Of Catan cookbook.

For those more into fantasy sports than fantasy role-playing, here's the deal. Settlers is a board game where multiple players assume the roles of settlers, while attempting to develop communities through a string of trades — many of them agricultural in nature. Dice rollling and cards are involved. Here's a tribute shirt you can buy on FashionablyGeek.com to give you the gist.

The book is the brainchild of Austin, TX freelance writer Chris-Rachael Oseland, who is also behind books with titles like Dining With The Doctor: The Unauthorized Whovian Cookbook and SteamDrunks: 101 Steampunk Cocktails and Mixed Drinks. She sounds fun!

According to a release, the recipes are split into two sections. The first half of the book is loaded with full scale, highly configurable, "edible maps" designed for nearly any gaming situation. The second half is a tribute to the Building Cost cards with recipes "chock full of sheep and grain plus creative interpretations of wood, brick and ore." Paging Rene Redzepi.

Not to discriminate against diet-nerdy restriction, there are over 80 recipes fit for vegetarians, more than 60 for people with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance, 50 for people with milk allergies or lactose intolerance, over 30 for vegans and nearly 30 for low carb primal dieters.

While this is great news for Settlers fans around the world (over 15 million games have been sold so far) we're holding out for a Ticket To Ride cocktail book. Because friends to don't let friends Ride sober.
