The convergence of food and music is nothing new. Nope. We’ve interviewed countless bands for our Good Food, Rocks series — guys like Chromeo, French Montana and John Darnielle have told us all about their love of locavore dining and small-batch bourbon finding their way into the dressing room. And of course there is Zach Brooks and his weekly podcast devoted to the topic. That’s been going down for a year and a half now. So, yeah, nothing new.
Enter the Food Network, which stealthily announced plans for a music festival for fall 2014. Ad Age reports that at yesterday’s Hearst magazine “Upfront” the company detailed how they were beefing up their events business, including Food Network In Concert, a food and music festival sponsored by Food Network Magazine. Details are slim, but the report says the event will take place in Chicago in September.
