Seriously, screw insulated totes. They have no souls. I carried one of these lunchboxes to school every day until mysteriously, one day, everyone was carrying these soft-body lunch “bags” where everything just jostled around in there willy-nilly, devoid of structure and there was no place for a Thermos. I continue to fear change.
Anyway, I was browsing Flickr and came across a treasure trove of old-school lunchboxes I’d happily still tenderly pack a bologna sandwich into, maybe even fill up that Thermos with alphabet soup. Perhaps a Babybel or Handi-Snax. My love of childhood food knows no boundaries. See: that time I went all ’90s on my lunch column.
