Our 14 Favorite Nachos, Chips And Dip Recipes For The Big Game
Chips and dip recipes to practice before the game
Stretching before strenuous activity, like football, is very important. There are roughly 50 muscles utilized in grabbing a chip and dunking it in dip and bringing it to your mouth, then another 12 muscles to consume said dipped chip. Accounting for more dips than usual this weekend, yeah, you might want to stretch a little.
That's what Practice Round is for. It's our way of making sure you're completely prepared for the food-centric day ahead, whether it's Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day (ugh, don't start) or the Mother's Day brunch spread that reminds Ma you're still her darling little schmoopie. So knock out a few practices rounds of onion dip, fry up a few batches of potato chips (hint: now is the time to break out the mandoline/V-slicer) and get real friendly-like with blue cheese. Here are our 14 favorite recipes for dips and the chips you love to exercise muscles dipping.
Baja Fish Nachos Recipe
Our favorite tacos meet nachos. Mexican showdown!
The thought of folding and frying 20 fried fish empanadas in non-self-adhesive dough and finding five or six photogenic ones made me sad, so I decided to throw the whole concept on top of nachos. Problem solved. Shortly after this photo was taken, the team descended upon this plate like sharks. That's the only measure of success we use in Test Kitchen.

Chicken Tinga Nachos Recipe
Loaded nachos go even further South of the border
When the FDA finally comes out with their list of Top 5 Most Important Tailgating Foods (should be any day now), I expect to see nachos close to the top. Chili Crab Dip Recipe
A Singapore dish you can dip into, shell-free!
Chili crab is an iconic Singapore dish with the crabs served shell on. I wanted to try and recreate the flavors and experience of scooping up the wonderful sauce without the messy wrestling with shells (which is great fun in Singapore but not always so nice on a date in NYC), so it's made with picked crab meat at Masak.

Homemade Potato Chips Recipe
Put down the bag and make your own potato chips
Chips and dip might seem like a cop out appetizer, but not if you make the goods from scratch. Easily impress by elevating the most mundane snacks to homemade status. It only takes minutes to fry up potato slices and the results are far superior to any bag of kettle chips we’ve tried.
