Video: American Craft Beer Revival
The animated history of craft beer in America
If you’ve been following along over the past couple of months, it’s become pretty clear that we are in the midst of an American craft beer revolution. There’s beer made with rye and great beer bars popping up places like Los Angeles, cask ales and loads of cider houses that rule. Craft beer is available in tall boys. Craft beer is available in the deep south. Craft beer is massive these day. But that wasn't always the case.
Illustrator Nate Whitson traces the history of craft beer in America in this animated short film—from the prosperous turn of the century to Prohibition to grain rationing during World War II to the watered-down Eighties and finally today’s boom. Makes us very thirsty.
