Easy Chicken Lettuce Wraps Recipe
Health-ify your next party with lettuce wraps
It was while working for a hunger relief organization that one day I had a huge food “ah ha!” moment. Outside of its obvious supply of nutrition and nourishment, food is a vital social ingredient. We use it to celebrate, to comfort, even to woo. That speaks to why tapas restaurants are virtual magnets for mixing and mingling. There is something about sharing good eats with friends that makes morsels taste even better.
But try thinking about appetizers for more than parties or game day, because interactive dining works great for weekday dinners too. And do I have an app for that: chicken lettuce wraps. Serve this dish along side some quick-boil edamame and share the love.
Ingredients
- Wash and dry lettuce cups.
- Cook chicken with water and onion over medium heat until chicken is no longer pink, breaking it up into crumbles with a wooden spoon. Drain off any excess water and stir in cilantro, lime juice, fish sauce.
- To serve, spoon chicken into each lettuce leaf. Serve with soy sauce and sriracha on the side if desired.
