Iced Green Tea Recipe
An antioxidant boost with an assist from the sun
Green tea has long been touted for its abilities to prevent or fight against heart disease, cancer, and strokes. Dr. Charles Simone, Medical Oncologist and Director of the Simone Protective Cancer Institute in Lawrenceville, NJ, says there is no difference between the health benefits in green tea over those of black teas. In the end it’s a matter of taste, and for us the green lends this summer fave a smoother flavor. If you like a bolder, stronger iced tea feel free to substitute black tea bags for this recipe.
Ingredients
In a one- gallon glass jar with a fitted lid, combine the tea bags and water. Place in the sun for 3 hours. Add the sliced fruit and place back in the sun for 2 hours. Serve over ice and sweeten with honey if desired.
