Lavender Is The Star Of Starbucks' Spring Lineup

Some new seasonal drinks have sprung up at Starbucks and they feature an ingredient that's hitting the coffee and tea purveyor's menu for the first time: lavender. According to a press release, beginning March 7, the floral flavor will be infused into two iced beverages that celebrate spring.

The Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha is a pretty pick-me-up with bright green matcha mixed with oat milk and served over ice. Further channeling the season of spring, it's topped with a creamy lavender-infused cold foam that sports a subdued shade of violet. With just 60 milligrams of caffeine in a grande, it's a mild way to kick off the day with a pop of color and a hint of spring flavor.

For a coffee-based spring beverage, Starbucks is introducing an Iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte. In this cold drink, Starbucks combines the lavender (in powder form) with Starbucks Blonde espresso and silky oat milk. If you're looking to really put a spring in your step (get it?), this one is likely to do it, clocking in at 170 milligrams of caffeine for a grande.

Ordering a grande-sized cup of either of the new beverages will set you back somewhere between $5.75 and $6.75, depending on where you live. However, if you bring your own cup, you can not only save 10 cents, but you can also earn Bonus Stars that can add up to free drinks. And if you're feeling like sipping from something springy, Starbucks has new merch, too.

The spring line of Starbucks cups features mostly 16 and 24-ounce cold cups, though there is one 14-ounce mug, a 16-ounce tumbler, and a 20-ounce water bottle. Colors range from fun and funky pastel tie dye and a gradient orange to pastel seafoam and bright magenta. The cups are priced between $16.95 and $29.95.

Or, if you want to kick off a dual celebration of both spring and Women's History Month, you can grab a colorful cold cup, tumbler, or steel tumbler designed by artist Shae Anthony, specifically for Starbucks. Anthony's work is part of an ongoing Artist Collaboration program that features artwork on cups and tumblers by artists from all around the globe.
