Why You Should Be Eating Guava

There are two kinds of fruits: those that you couldn't imagine running out of and others that you regard with reservation. Guavas, for many, belong securely in the latter category.

Guavas have many health benefits, including high levels of dietary fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants — all reasons to consider adding guava to your everyday diet.

According to the USDA, one cup of guava has 8.9 grams of fiber, nearly a fourth of the daily recommended intake, and 376 milligrams of vitamin C.

Studies have linked guavas with lower blood pressure and higher HDL or good cholesterol. The high fiber content makes guava excellent for the digestive system.

With the vast array of guava's health benefits, the fact that the fruit has an exquisite flavor is only a bonus.
