Why You Hardly Find Watermelon Juice On Store Shelves

You may get away with storing watermelon juice in the refrigerator for up to three days, but don’t assume refrigerated, bottled versions will be readily available in the markets.

Per a 2020 Food & Nutrition Research study, natural watermelon juice stays fresh for about 12 hours before it starts to sour and separate, losing its flavors and nutritional value.
However, it only lasts this long when stored at temperatures under 40 degrees Fahrenheit. For this reason, the majority of watermelon juices sold commercially aren't 100% pure.
These often feature artificial flavors and preservatives to help extend their shelf life, not to mention added sugar. However, finding natural watermelon juice isn’t impossible.
Despite its short shelf-life, brands like CoCo Joy and Namai still churn out bottled or canned 100% watermelon juice without any added sugar, preservatives, or artificial flavors.
While IOS Naturals makes certified organic watermelon juice with apple juice concentrate, Wonder Melon adds natural ingredients like lemon juice, cucumber juice, basil, or cayenne.
The brand WTRMLN WTR makes its concoction from the flesh and rinds of bruised or misshapen watermelons that’d otherwise be discarded by farmers, filtered water, and lemon juice.
